FRACKING BLUES, third note (English version.) Indicators for monitoring environmental and social status in areas with hydro-fracture

Source: Semana Sostenible Magazine. Original photo footnote: Countries like the United States have been hydro-fractures for years despite community protests. Photo: Semana magazine. [1] The first note of this blog on Fracking Blues explained the origin of the technique, why hydrofracture is considered an achievement of economics, information and drilling methods. The article explained where the idea comes from and said that the emotional burden is very intense in all aspects related to the hydrofracture. The absence of clear information, misinformation (unintentional inadequate information) disinformation (intentionally false information) and selective and biased information or cherry-picking " are common elements in the public information about the technique. This important topic will be considered below. The second note explained that the main point that has enormous validity is the observation that the hydrofracture will exacerbate CO 2 emissions when we u...

From: Science News, Volume of fracking fluid pumped underground tied to Canada quakes. The information issues In the complex perceptions exchanges, opinions, claims and regrets about hydraulic fracturing, attention is struck by the information maladies, like lack of information, cherry-picked information, and disinformation of accessible sources, the media, the governments, and the conservation groups. Also, call the attention of the apparent misinformation of the academy and the oil and gas industry itself that should be called to correct false perceptions [1]. In the oil industry, it is common for professional associations, companies and the government to generate measures to prevent further incidents in response to every event.   Each incident causes industrial standards to be created or update...

[1] From: FORBES,  Feb 20, 2018. Fracking Has Its Costs And Benefits-The Trick Is Balancing Them. Foto iStock Recapitulating: What is the Fracking?  In an earlier blog, I discover that the fracking idea predates the oil industry, and there are some data from the early gaslighting of London. I also found that the techniques of rock fracturing were used by Soviet engineers in central Asia 90 years ago to increase water production, and for American engineers 70 years ago for secondary oil extraction of declining oil wells. I also found that the directional drilling techniques were perfected 40 years ago to horizontally access complex strata, and 20 years ago was common the use of computers and complex information systems for business applications.  Moreover, all these elements have had relatively adequate environmental management[2]. Other things that affect the technique of hydrofracture and that I do not cover in the present blog are the existence of an ap...
